CERT TRAINING
In conjuntion with Memphis Muslim Social Services .
In the shadow of the green, round-domed mosque, the "Masjid As-Salam," a diverse group of citizens, members of the Muslim Society of Memphis, recently met for disaster preparedness training on two consecutive Saturdays. Lead by Younis Sherif, MMSS director of social services, the 12 students participated in the Community Emergency Response Team -- "CERT on the Go" training offered by the Shelby County Office of Preparedness at the MSM facility on Stratford Road.
Health Fair
Memphis Muslims Medical Clinic and Memphis Muslim Social Services organized a community health fair onSaturday March 26, 2011 at Masjid As-Salam. They provided free health screening and services including blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol screening, eye exam, and dental cleaning for children
